Every competitive player on the desk is placed into one of four recurring roles. The labels are stable across games — the desk does not invent game-specific synonyms — so readers comparing across titles are not starting from zero each time.

How the desk reads broadcast footage

When the desk writes a player dossier from broadcast footage, the desk names the round or stage read, links the partner VOD, and notes the timestamp the read was captured at. This means the reader can re-listen, re-watch or skip back without trusting the desk's read.

Player reads on the desk do not begin from social media. They begin from footage. Where a player has signed a post-match interview, the desk quotes the line at length and gives the timestamp.

The desk does not link fan-handle Twitter threads or third-party tracker numbers in a player dossier. Those belong on a different page with their own source ladder.

Why does the desk never lead with social following?

Social following does not affect the round. The desk writes the role first because that is what determines the team's composition on event day.

How does the desk handle unverified social handles?

They are not used in a dossier until the player has confirmed the handle in writing or by direct on-camera reference. Until then the dossier says "social handle pending verification".

What does the desk record about a transfer window?

The desk records the date the player's social account links the new team's branding, and the date the previous team's roster filing removes the player. Where they conflict, the desk sides with the latest L1 filing.
