Reader questions · the news desk

What readers ask before they trust a news article on the desk.

Why does the desk publish only some announcements?

Only when at least one Tier-one source supports the announcement and the desk can be specific about the audience the announcement serves.

What happens when a correction hits a row on the home page?

The home page note is annotated with the date; the original wording stays visible in the article so the reader can audit the change.

Why does the desk not chase rumours about rosters?

Because the source ladder is the desk's contract with the reader. Until an L1 source is on the record, the desk waits.
